Faux Wood Beams Built to Order for Long Island

Wood box beams from Reclaimed Creations are three sided and built to your measurements. They are decorative ceiling beams, sometimes called faux beams. Because each one is hollow, it weighs far less than a solid timber and costs less as well. Every beam is kiln dried and lock mitered at the corners. The yard is in Hopewell Junction, Dutchess County, and a Long Island order reaches you by delivery or freight, or you can collect it there by appointment only.

When you have decided, send us:

  • ✦The option, and for hemlock, a rough face or a circle sawn face
  • ✦The profile, given as its three exposed faces, such as 6 by 6 by 6
  • ✦How many beams, four at minimum, and the length of each. Standard lengths go from 12 feet up to 20, and any beam over 16 feet has a seam. Order every beam for the ceiling together, so they all come from one run and keep a consistent color and character.
  • ✦The zip code of the job in Nassau or Suffolk

Delivery or Freight to Nassau and Suffolk Counties

Nassau and Suffolk are both in New York, and New York is part of our delivery area. The beams can come to the site on a delivery, or go by freight.

Either way, the quote is priced to the zip code of your job, with delivery or freight included. Give the length of every beam, because long beams change the freight cost.

Pickup at the yard is also free if you prefer to collect the order. It is by appointment only, so phone before you come.

Timing Your Order

Your beams are built once you place the order, and lead time is two to three weeks. A non standard size does not lengthen that, because the beams are built to your dimensions either way. Depending on inventory, we may have a few in stock, so reach out and ask.

Start from the day your contractor plans to hang the beams and work backward. Leave time for the order to be built and reach the site, and for any finishing once it arrives. Beams go out unfinished, with neither stain nor sealer, so any finish is done on site to match the room. Ask about delivery timing when you request your quote.

Who Hangs the Beams

Reclaimed Creations builds the beams and supplies them. Installing them is not a service we offer, so once they reach the site, putting them up is a job for you or your contractor. Each beam mounts over a ledger board fixed to the ceiling joists and is fastened from the sides. The beams are hollow and light, so two people can hang them on most ceilings. If lights are going in, the wiring can be hidden inside a beam, and so can conduit or sprinkler line.
