Reclaimed barnwood siding stands apart from new wood due to its rich history and weathered charm. Each plank has endured decades, sometimes centuries, of exposure to the elements, resulting in unique patinas, nail holes, and saw marks that give it character. This natural aging process makes reclaimed wood more durable and environmentally friendly, as it reduces the need for newly harvested timber. In contrast, new wood siding lacks this history and character, offering a more uniform, less authentic, appearance. Read more in our guide, What Is Reclaimed Barnwood Siding?
Yes, reclaimed barnwood siding is ideal for both interior and exterior projects. Its natural weathering over time makes it particularly well-suited for outdoor use. At Reclaimed Creations, we offer collections like Deep Weather Grays that have been weathered by the elements for over a century, making them durable and beautiful for exterior applications.
Absolutely! By using reclaimed barnwood siding, you are promoting sustainability. Reclaimed wood is recycled from old structures, reducing the need for fresh timber harvesting. This minimizes deforestation and helps preserve forests. Additionally, by repurposing existing wood, we cut down on the energy and resources required to produce new materials.
