Reclaimed Circle Sawn Red Oak Flooring with Original Blade Marks

Call (845) 232-8943

Grade B red oak with the original circle saw marks left in the face. This is the most aggressive floor we supply, because it stacks mill blade texture on top of red oak’s wide weathered color range. Special order, unfinished, two to three weeks.

Two Things at Once

The circle sawn white oak floor gives you texture over a fairly uniform gray brown. This one gives you the same texture over red oak’s much wider color range.

That combination is the reason this floor is either exactly right or completely wrong for a room. There is very little middle ground with it.

See It In Person

Where It Works

Large rooms with height. Barn conversions, great rooms, commercial spaces, taprooms. Anywhere the floor can carry the room and the walls can stay plain.

It also works in a room that already has heavy timber in it, because the saw marks in the floor echo the tool marks in the beams overhead.

Where It Does Not

Small rooms. Dark rooms. Rooms with a lot of pattern already in play, whether that is tile, wallpaper, or busy cabinetry.

If you want the texture without the color swing, circle sawn white oak flooring is the calmer version of the same idea. If you want the color without the texture, rustic red oak flooring in grade B gives you that.

Look at this one in person before you order it. It is the product in our line most likely to surprise someone who only saw photographs.

Ordering and Lead Time

This is a special order product. We do not carry it in the yard. Tell us the square footage, the width, and the grade, and we will quote the floor and the freight in one number.

Allow two to three weeks from the day the order goes in. Minimum order is 500 square feet, and you should add 10 to 15 percent above your measured square footage for waste.

Orders under 1,000 square feet carry a small order charge, quoted with your order.

You are welcome to pick up at our yard in Hopewell Junction at no charge, or we will quote delivery to your site.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from the white oak circle sawn floor?+

Same blade marks, different species underneath. Red oak brings a warmer tone and a much wider color range across the pack, so this floor reads busier than the white oak version.

Does it come finished?+

No. Unfinished, with no stain and no sealer. Finishing happens on site.

Can I feel the saw marks?+

Yes, barefoot. Shallow arcs, not enough to be uncomfortable, but you will notice them.

Is it harder to keep clean?+

The arcs hold a little more dust than a flat face. A vacuum handles it. A dry mop works better run along the arcs than across them.

Would a clear finish calm the color down?+

It will not narrow the range, but a clear finish keeps the tones honest instead of fighting them. Most people who buy this floor go clear rather than stained.
