These terms apply to reclaimedcreationsllc.com and to orders placed with Reclaimed Creations LLC. Using this site or ordering from us means you accept them.
Quotes Are Estimates
Any price shown on this site, produced by a calculator on this site, or given before we have your details is an estimate. It is not a fixed price and it is not an offer we are bound to.
We price by the foot, and a final price depends on your actual measurements, the beam or boards chosen, the finish, and anything beyond a straight cut at standard depth. A quote becomes firm when we confirm it with you directly for a specific piece.
Deposits on Custom Orders
Some custom orders require a deposit before we begin cutting. Whether one applies depends on the size and nature of the job, and we will tell you before any work starts. Any deposit is agreed in writing as part of your confirmed quote.
Cancelling a Custom Order
You can cancel a custom order at no cost any time before we begin cutting. Once a piece has been cut to your measurements or finished to your specification, the order cannot be cancelled and any deposit is non-refundable, because the material no longer has resale value to us.
If you need to change an order, tell us as soon as possible. We will accommodate changes where the work has not yet started.
The Nature of Reclaimed Wood
Every board and beam we sell was part of a barn, mill, or factory building, often for a century or more. Variation is what the material is.
- Color and tone vary between pieces and shift depending on the light in your room
- Texture varies with how the piece was originally worked, whether by axe or by mill saw
- Dimensions vary, and reclaimed stock is rarely perfectly uniform in width, thickness, or straightness
- Nail holes, checking, notch pockets, saw marks, and weathering are original to the material
These characteristics are not defects and are not grounds for a claim that the material is faulty. Photographs on this site show real pieces we have sold, and the piece you receive will differ from them. If exact consistency matters for your project, tell us before ordering and we will tell you honestly whether reclaimed material suits it.
Returns and Refunds
Custom orders cannot be returned. Once a piece has been cut to your measurements or finished to your specification, it has no resale value to us and the sale is final. This includes any mantel cut to length and any material finished to a custom stain.
In-stock material may be returned within 14 days of pickup or delivery, provided it is unused, uninstalled, and in the condition it left the yard. Return freight is your responsibility, and the original freight charge is not refunded.
If material arrives damaged in transit, tell us within 48 hours and send photographs. We will work with the carrier and make it right.
Variation in color, texture, or dimension is not damage. See the section above.
No Warranty
RECLAIMED MATERIAL IS SOLD AS IS AND WITH ALL FAULTS. WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING NO IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY AND NO IMPLIED WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
This reflects what the material is. Every piece has already spent a century or more in a working building, and its age, weathering, and prior use are the reason people want it. We inspect, kiln-dry, and surface-wash everything we sell, and we will tell you honestly what a piece is and where it came from. What we cannot do is warrant reclaimed timber against the ordinary characteristics of reclaimed timber.
If material arrives damaged in transit, that is covered under Returns and Refunds above and is a separate matter from warranty.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by New York law:
Our total liability for any claim arising from material you purchase from us, or from your use of this website, is limited to the amount you paid us for the material in question.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including loss of use, loss of profit, cost of substitute material, or damage to surrounding property or structures.
We are not liable for damage, injury, or loss resulting from improper installation, from installation performed by anyone other than us, or from failure to observe clearance requirements between a mantel and a working firebox, stove, or insert. Those clearances are set by your local building code and by the manufacturer of your appliance, and confirming them is your responsibility.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Freight and Delivery
Freight is quoted separately from the material and depends on size, weight, and distance. It is not included in any per-foot price. We deliver throughout New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Massachusetts, and ship nationwide by freight carrier.
Delivery timing given in advance is our best estimate, not a guaranteed date, and we are not responsible for delays caused by a carrier.
Pickup at the Yard
Pickup is by appointment only. Email us to arrange a time so someone is there to walk the racks with you.
You are responsible for transporting material safely once it leaves the yard, including securing the load.
We Supply Material, Not Installation
We sell and finish reclaimed material. We do not install it, and we do not arrange or supervise installation.
Installation is your responsibility or your contractor's, including structural support, fasteners, and clearance from any heat source. Nothing we say about a piece is advice about how to install it in your particular space.
Website Content
We keep this site accurate, but product descriptions, photographs, availability, and prices can change without notice, and in-stock items may sell before the page is updated. Nothing on this site is professional advice about your specific installation.
Clearance between a mantel and a working firebox is set by your local building code and by the manufacturer of your insert or stove. Check both before installing anything.
Intellectual Property
The text, photographs, and design of this site belong to Reclaimed Creations LLC. Please do not reproduce them commercially without asking us first.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute arising from these terms, this website, or an order placed with us will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Dutchess County, New York, and both sides consent to that venue.
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full force.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published here on the date of your order, and the date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
