Reclaimed Creations supplies reclaimed white oak and red oak flooring to jobs on Long Island. We are based in Hopewell Junction, in New York's Hudson Valley, and every floor is ordered to the job.

We do not hold flooring in stock. Your floor is graded, milled, and packed after the order goes in, which takes two to three weeks, and the minimum order is 500 square feet. Delivery to Long Island is priced as part of your quote, or you can pick the order up at our yard at no charge.

What We Carry

We supply white oak and red oak, each in three options. White oak is tan through light brown with a tight closed grain, and it handles moisture better than red oak. Red oak is warmer, with a pink undertone and an open grain that reads busier underfoot.

Grade A is the cleaner grade. Grade B is rougher, with deeper weather lines and a wider color range. Circle sawn is grade B with the original circle saw marks left in the face.

Every floor is three quarter inch solid tongue and groove, in 3, 4, or 4.5 inch widths and random lengths from 1.5 to 7 feet. It is kiln dried and shipped unfinished. See the reclaimed wood flooring page for the full specifications.

Order Before the Schedule Needs It

Between placing an order and walking on a finished floor on Long Island, there are four steps. None of them is long on its own.

  • Two to three weeks to grade, mill, and pack the order
  • Delivery to your job, or pickup at the yard
  • Acclimation in the room, for as long as your installer wants
  • Sanding and finishing on site, since everything we ship is unfinished

Add them up before you book the install, and place the order early enough to cover all four. If you are working to a fixed date, tell us when you call.

Delivery and Pickup

Delivery to Long Island is priced as part of your quote. Send your zip code with the square footage, species, and width, and we will price the floor and the delivery together.

You are also welcome to pick the order up at our yard at 40 Railroad Ave in Hopewell Junction, at no charge. Call ahead so the order is staged. The yard is open Tuesday through Friday and Saturday mornings, by appointment only.

Working With Your Installer

We supply the flooring, and you or your flooring contractor install it.

The wood is kiln dried and stored in a humidity controlled building before it ships, then it goes into a room on the Island. Ask your installer how long they want it to acclimate before it goes down, and build their answer into the schedule.

Ask about the subfloor and the finish at the same time. Everything ships unfinished, so the finish can be chosen for how the house is used.

If a builder or contractor is running the job, they are welcome to call us directly.

Frequently Asked Questions

For finish, minimum order, installation, and radiant heat, see the questions on the reclaimed wood flooring page.

Do you supply Long Island?+

Yes. Delivery is priced as part of your quote, so send your zip code along with the square footage, species, and width.

Can you mail samples to Long Island?+

Yes. Ask for samples and we can mail them to you, or you can pick them up at the yard. Reclaimed oak changes a lot with the light, so it is worth looking at the board in the room before you choose a grade.

How far ahead should I order?+

Count back from the day you want the floor finished. The order takes two to three weeks, and delivery, acclimation, and sanding and finishing all come after that.

Will it be all right near the water?+

The wood is kiln dried before it ships, but the room it goes into matters too. Ask your installer how long they want it acclimating and what finish they would use. If you are choosing between species, white oak handles moisture better than red oak and moves less across the seasons.

What a Floor Costs

Every floor is quoted individually. Species, width, grade, and square footage set the price, orders under 1,000 square feet carry a small order charge, and delivery to Long Island is priced in the same quote.

Measure the rooms and add 10 to 15 percent for offcut. Then send the square footage, species, width, and your zip code through the contact form, or call (845) 232-8943. Most quotes go out the same business day.
