Reclaimed Creations builds fireplace mantels from old growth reclaimed beams, and we have sold them to customers in the Catskills. We deliver throughout the region, including Woodstock, Phoenicia, Windham, Hunter, and Livingston Manor, or you can pick your mantel up at our yard in Hopewell Junction. Know Where Your Beam Came From

Our beams come out of barns, mills, and factory buildings across the Northeast, most of them built between the 1700s and the early 1900s. When we take a barn down, we know where the material came from.

That means we can usually tell you the county your beam came from and roughly how old it is. Ask when you order.

Hand-Hewn Mantels

Hand-hewn beams were squared by hand with an axe and an adze. The tool marks run deep across the face, and a hand-hewn mantel reads older and more rustic than rough sawn. Two of the photos here show one over a wood stove insert.

Rough Sawn Mantels

Rough sawn beams were cut at a mill with a circular blade, which left arcing saw marks on a flatter face. Rough sawn reads cleaner than hand-hewn and squares up well for a more finished installation.

Delivery and Pickup

We deliver mantels throughout the Catskills. The cost depends on the size of the mantel and the distance, so call with your zip code and we will price it.

You can also pick up at our yard at 40 Railroad Ave in Hopewell Junction, or come choose the beam yourself. The yard is open Tuesday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Saturday until noon, by appointment only.

This is an estimate for a straight cut at standard depth. Anything beyond that, we will price on the phone once we have your measurements.

A five-foot in-stock mantel is $495, sanded, finished, and ready to hang, with no design fee and no separate charge for stain or sealer. Most orders are ready within two weeks.

Can you tell me where my beam came from?+

Usually, yes. When we take a barn down we know where the material came from, so we can usually tell you the county and the approximate age of the beam you are buying.

Can a mantel go over a wood stove?+

Our mantels hang over wood stove inserts as well as open fireplaces. How far above the stove it has to sit is set by your local code and by the maker of the stove, so check both before you mount it.

Can you cut a mantel to fit my fireplace?+

Yes. Send the length, height, and depth, or a photo of the fireplace with the opening width, and we will recommend a size that looks right.
