Reclaimed Creations builds fireplace mantels from old growth reclaimed beams for customers in Albany, Saratoga Springs, and across the Capital Region. Long Mantels, Cut to Order

A custom mantel is cut from a raw beam to the length, height, and depth you give us, and it does not have to be a standard length. We recently delivered a custom 14-foot mantel to Saratoga Springs.

Send us the measurements, or a photo of the fireplace with the width of the opening, and we will recommend a size that looks right. Custom mantels are $125 a foot, finish included, and most orders are ready within two weeks.

Hand-Hewn Mantels

Hand-hewn beams were shaped with an axe and an adze a century or more ago. Every tool mark is still in the face, so the surface is uneven and no two mantels match.

Rough Sawn Mantels

Rough sawn beams were cut at a mill, and the arcing marks of the circular blade run across a flatter face. It is the cleaner looking of the two.

Delivery and Pickup

We deliver mantels throughout the Capital Region, long custom pieces included. The cost depends on the size of the mantel and the distance, so call with your zip code and we will price it.

You can also pick your mantel up at our yard at 40 Railroad Ave in Hopewell Junction. It is open Tuesday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Saturday until noon, by appointment only.

This is an estimate for a straight cut at standard depth. Anything beyond that, we will price on the phone once we have your measurements.

A five-foot in-stock mantel is $495, sanded, finished, and ready to hang. There is no design fee and no extra charge for staining or sealing.

How long can a custom mantel be?+

Tell us the length you need and we will look for a beam that can do it. Our recent Saratoga Springs mantel was 14 feet.

Can I get a mantel cut to a specific size?+

Yes. Tell us the length, height, and depth and we will cut to it. A photo of the fireplace with the opening width is usually enough for us to recommend a size.

Is reclaimed wood safe over a working fireplace?+

Every mantel is kiln-dried and surface-washed, which kills anything living in the wood and lowers the moisture content. The clearance above the firebox is set by your local building code and by the maker of your insert or stove, so check both before mounting.
